Day 4 Privacy: Guest Access, Data and Your Choices

What does Day 4 need to know before you check today's sacred date? You can begin without an account. The more useful privacy question is what changes when you enable an optional feature, sign in or allow measurement. This guide helps you inspect those choices in Day 4 itself.

Understand the data categories

An app may transmit data for ordinary reasons. An email address creates an account. A device token delivers a reminder. A crash report helps diagnose a failure. A reading-plan completion can sync between a phone and tablet. Analytics may count which screen opened without recording the words you typed there.

Look for these categories:

  • contact information and account identifiers,
  • precise or approximate location,
  • device IDs, app interactions, diagnostics, and crash logs,
  • purchases and subscription status,
  • notes, searches, prayer requests, highlights, and other user-created content,
  • advertising or analytics partners receiving any of the above.

Read Day 4's current disclosure

Day 4's privacy policy, version 11 effective October 1, 2026, says data stays on your device by default and an account is optional for syncing saved content. It also describes advertising measurement, including device and app information, approximate region and events such as opening the app or beginning a subscription. Consent and defaults vary by region. You can change the setting in the app. Guest access does not by itself mean measurement is off.

Day 4 privacy policy

The spiritual sensitivity is broader than GPS. A prayer log can reveal illness, pregnancy, addiction, grief, employment trouble, a child's name, a congregation, and the hour a household is usually awake. A reading history may suggest religious commitments. Treat free text as intimate even when a store taxonomy calls it merely “user content.”

Check the store page

Open Day 4's listing in the store on your device and expand its privacy disclosure. Read the declared collection, sharing, purposes and deletion options. These summaries are supplied by the publisher; they are a starting point for checking the current policy, not an independent privacy audit.

Compare that disclosure with the privacy page linked from Day 4. Then inspect the app's account, notification and advertising-measurement settings separately. Grant permissions for a feature you choose to use, and revisit the choices after an update. If a term is unclear, ask Day 4 support before entering sensitive material.

Choose what to sync

Guest access reduces the obvious link between activity and an email address, but it does not automatically stop analytics, network requests, or device-level identifiers. Still, it is a useful test.

Common questions

Does using Day 4 as a guest stop all measurement?

No. Guest access and advertising measurement are separate choices. Read the current disclosure and inspect the measurement setting in Day 4. The policy says prayers, notes, calendar and account details are not shared for advertising, and explains how to request deletion of synced data.

The safest habit is neither panic nor trust by category. Read the claim, limit the access, and decide what should never leave your hands.
